Donovaly is the starting point for many hikes and the awakening nature is slowly calling hiking enthusiasts. Summer is officially knocking on the door and welcomes a new tourist season in the surroundings. We have also prepared a tip for a nice summer walk in nature that will recharge you with good energy - Goat's Back. This peak is easily accessible and offers easy hiking, which both casual hikers, families with children and more demanding hikers will love.
Goat's Back

Duration: 2 to 2 and a half hours
Difficulty: easy
You start the route at the main car park of Donoval, where you follow the red hiking signs - this is the main ridge trail. The terrain gets a bit steeper just below the top.
The typically sharp peak of the Goat's Back is a dominant feature of the main ridge of the Low Tatras, in the part of the Starohorské hory. The peak is known for its enchanting natural beauty, diverse scenery and thanks to this it is one of the most popular and frequently visited mountains for tourists.
Goat's Back is also a forest reserve. The lower areas are wooded, in several places the dense forest is transformed into a beautiful clearing, while the upper parts are grassy and will slowly fill up with rich flowers, which are worth seeing. Thanks to this, the view of the Zvolen basin and the Horehronie region, the peaks of the Low Tatras and Veľká Fatra is truly beautiful from the top.
